DOCTOR, DOCTOR BY SUZANNE BLANCHARD
Book Cover Design
Suzanne Blanchard was 82 when she finished her memoir about life growing up the daughter of a country doctor and an anesthetist in rural Michigan during the 1940s and 1950s. The medical aspect of the book was very important to her, and the memoir includes anecdotes about her days in medical school and time spent working in hospitals on both sides of the U.S. She also felt that image of the caduceus was personal , and I thought that the personal and conversational tone of her stories, and well as her perspective as a woman were key to the spirit of the book. I pulled these ideas together to give the cover an intimate feel that alluded to the time period of the story. Check out the book.
